DESCRIPTION
The Amp Crash is an all-in-one effects pedal/guitar amp and speaker - mic’d up. A collaboration between Rainger FX (London) and Death By Audio (New York), this is a ground-breaking piece of gear!

It’s incredibly flexible - the Amp Crash works great as a small-gig guitar backline (has a 2” speaker - but it’s very useable, and loud!). Or as a full-range fuzz pedal with a dense, wide-frequency sound, and a small amount of ‘sag’ at the extreme - but with echo, reverb or chorus, and real speaker-sound output too!

Or your pedalboard-mounted monitor!

Or as an amplifier driving your full-size speaker cab!

Or the most exciting practice amp there’s ever been….!!!

THE FUZZ
In the guitar amp section of the front panel, the ‘Gain’ knob goes from almost clean, right up to an intense and satisfying analog fuzz - tonally shaped by the ‘Tone’ control. It’s really fun to use, cleans up well with your guitar’s volume pot, and - despite the high gain - it’s pretty quiet when there’s no signal.

The guitar amp section also has the very cool speaker grill - and inside, a mic is positioned looking directly at the edge of the speaker. This picks up what the speaker is doing - the tonal colour thing, the physical distortion as it struggles to reproduce a signal,  the threat of feedback…

But then all that exciting mic stuff can be fed into the ‘DI Out’ output - to mix with the directly connected signal path (which has the same gain and effects).

INTERNAL EFFECTS
These digital effects are reverb, echo, or chorus - all adjusted by the ‘Depth’ and ‘Time’ controls. Single-repeat echoes right up to over-oscillating howling delays, or reverb - up to 12 seconds maximum, or chorus - from subtle, right up to flanging extremes; a really useful selection of sounds.

These are upstream of the gain/fuzz section - for exciting exaggeration of the effect!

USING IT
The Amp Crash is straightforward to use - if you’re using the ‘DI out’ with a bit of ‘Mic out’ you can switch the ‘Mic Gate’ on (guitar envelope-controlled) to stop feedback when you’re not playing.

If you’re using it to drive a big speaker cab - plugged into the external speaker socket, the internal speaker is disabled.
